Braking Noises

Whilst I'm almost ready for Leadfoot, there's still a few more issues I need to sort. First being the noise the brakes make.

It's symptoms:

High pitched squeal from BOTH front wheels sometimes when driving. Sometimes turning stops the squeal, and braking always stops the squeal but only for it to start back up again after braking is released. Usually occurs between 40-100kmh.

Going through town, can hear squeaking front wheels as it echoes of other cars and buildings - so can only assume this happens 24/7. Again, this disappears when braking.

And, under heavy braking, there is a raspy screeching noise from that back left of the passenger footwell.

Not sure if they're all related, but my car has just been through a full service and a WOF (from two different places), and nothing has been picked up. So I doubt its the most simplest wear indicator on the pads, otherwise I would've been told?

Any insight would be largely appreciated  :)

Oh, and all these noises have no effect whatsoever on the braking quality

Sounds like your rear linings might be worn out...they aren't checked for a WOF and there could be a stone/s in your front caliper/s if worn out pads aren't causing the noise. No 'squealing' wear indicators on Avenger pads..Nissan has that patent...lol

Alrighty, two brake shops later (first one was useless), the problem seems to be a few things. Firstly, the current pads are a crap brand so that's one part of the noise. Secondly, the rotors could do with machining as they're a bit glazed, and thirdly, one of the front left pistons is a bit iffy - hence the raspy noise. Brake shop guy said he'd price up some new seals for it?

Anyone on here have seals and a price for them so I know if what he quotes me is fair, etc?

Because of their age the calipers probably need new pistons and seals. I took my calipers to Autostop who took them apart and overhauled them.
Glazed looking rotors are normal...I don't recommend skimming Avenger rotors as they're already quite thin!
