I finally got my new set of rims for the Charger. I have been waiting for a year to get these bad boys off a 63 Dodge.

They are the same as my old mags except these ones are shinier. Before I put them on I want to paint inbetween the spokes black like my old ones are. what do you guys use for that?

I will put some more pictures up as I do them up and fit them.

they look smart are they polished alloy? what about black por15 should be good although its difficult to get a good finish with i bought some in a car shop in blenhiem cant remeber the name of it now but they do a lot of rubber trim to for classics.

avenga

Yeah they are polished alloy. They are a New Zealand brand of mags called Wormag so they are very rare. they were only sold in NZ and I have only seen a hand full of them.

I was thinking of masking it up and VHT make a spray can specially for that type of thing.

I am just going to clean them up and sand all the surfaces I am going to paint. I will put up some progress shots.

Love them rims, They look great on Valiants, A mate of mine had a set on his valiant Limo many years ago, I wonder if they made them to if an Avenger that would be cool

avenga

Thanks. I think they are awesome mags and something a bit different.

Yes they do make them for an Avenger. I saw them on a Avenger on trademe years ago. I saved some pictures of it.

avenga

Yeah I didn't think it would make as much difference as it did. I'm very please I made the effort to paint them before I put them on because they look tons better now.

This is what my charger would look like if it could hover. Please note: The anti-gravitational hover field is often mistaken for a really bad attempt at photoshop.

they look very well all the effort was worth it they look 100% lol at floating charger

avenga

Thanks. They came out much better than I hoped. the spokes really stand out well now with the blacked out parts. Well worth restoring them.

I might try tidying up the old set so I can have 2 really good sets.
