"The resulting Sunbeam Lotus was based on the Sunbeam 1.6 GLS, but fitted with stiffer suspension, larger anti-roll bar and tougher gearbox casings. The drivetrain comprised an enlarged 2172 cc version of the Lotus 1973 cc 907 engine, a 16V slant four engine (the Sunbeam version being type 911, similar to Lotus 912), along with a ZF gearbox, both mounted in the car at Ludham airfield close to the Lotus facility in Hethel, Norfolk, where the almost-complete cars were shipped from Linwood. Final inspection, in turn, took place in Stoke, Coventry.[3] In road trim the Lotus type 911 engine produced 150 bhp (112 kW; 152 PS) at 5,750rpm and 150 lb

To be honest it's one of those do it once and do it right things - everything is going to out anyway, and something is making some pretty bad noise back there anyway - I suspect the driveshaft is misaligned or something as going faster than 60km results in a large, very loud annoying rumble under any sort of acceleration which isn't quite right!

Well if money is no object they're on e-bay....

The SR20DE was 140 to 169hp from the factory, similar to the Lotus Sunbeam road car and they didn't have an LSD.
LSD's are more common on rally cars as they improve the traction big time, justifying their cost!

Awesome. Hilux Diffs rock. LSD?

I used to have a Hilux LSD for the 3S-GE race car I was building. I had 4.3:1 and 4.5:1

Non-LSD as I don't have the budget (LSD is $1900+), and the LSD isn't really useful in this application as they require pre-load apparently.

Kick ass brakes.

I am keen to help out with the towing in my Charger.

I am towing my Avenger to GT Refinishers on Tuesday so I will tow yours before that.

Mal won't know the place with both Avengers gone.

Yeah! That's why I did that.

Got them done at M & M Panelbeaters in Eden Terrace, dropped off car on Monday, they started on Tuesday and I picked up at lunchtime today, so they don't mess around.

Yup they look good, need to adjust them etc to try and get some usability out of them!
