In the early pictures it is a set of random lights I picked up from a junkyard for a few bucks. I couldn't find a working pair of original late model Chrysler Avenger lights so I had to settle for some working lights as I was using it for the road.

Later on when I knew it would be a full time race car I didn't need working lights so I put some original but not working lights in.

But out of interest if you are ever looking for lights for an earlier Hillman Avenger they use the same headlights as a VG-VH Valiant. Because it is much easier to find Valiant parts it is often better to ask for them.

In my VH Chrysler Valiant Charger I use aftermarket semi-sealed Halogens with 90/100W H4 bulb, with the H2 driving lights it is super bright on high beam and really good just with the H4's on low beam. They should fit the early Avengers as I have fitted Valiant lights to Avengers fine before. I got mine for Hemi Performance in Aussie but you could probably get them from Hemi Performance NZ now.

As for the race car's future, After I finished racing it in 2006 my mechanic mate used it for a year doing gravel racing in return for a new paint job. since then it has just sat in my garage, I haven't even started the engine in a few years. Because it was my first car and I raced it for so long I don't really want to get rid of it, I tried to sell it back in 2006 but I couldn't find any buyers.

After I finished racing it I actually started building a new race car. It was to be 2L toyota 3S-GE powered with a Supra W58 gearbox and Hilux LSD. I had the engine, gearbox, diff and rolling body but my Ex came along and sort of killed that project so I ended up selling everything. I sort of wish I had continued with it because it would have made a pretty good little race car.

Now days most my focus is on my 1975 Hillman Avenger and my Charger but one day I hope to drag it out for a comeback.
