WTB: Avenger Alternator

Looks like my alternators shat itself, Charge light is on dim all the time. gets brighter the more electrics you use.
anybody have a spare? Cheers

hey man, check what the voltage is across the battery when the car is running (should be around 14) before getting a new alternator. also remove the battery and give the terminals a good clean. And I was meant to clean up the battery earth where it bolts to the guard, its a bit crusty. might be giving a shitty earth

do all that and I wouldnt be surprised if your problem went away

Dave, All NZ Avengers had Alternators as standard

ah i didnt know that,early avengers ran dynamos at home,with a regulator box they sometimes give trouble which was my next question to sam re does it have the lucas reg on the driver side inner wing,my anglia had the same problem and my 1500 super did also but both had dynamo,joker no not the same but do the same job in a roundabout sort of way.

The problem is most likely caused by worn alternator brushes, cheap and easy to fix.
