I'm reasonable sure my car has a stock 1300 Chrysler diff but I should probably check because so far very few parts are the originals, But my I'm wondering what other people on the forum are running. Are there any lsd options for the avengers? Also how would the stock avenger diff handle the added power of a toyota 4age? ;D cheers

The have a habit of throwing Spider gears, a tack weld on the roll pin is recommended I am told

otherwise I have a welded diff in my Rally Car, goes fine other wise with 100HP in front of it

Wagon Diff's are lower ratio for hauling loads 4.11 IIRC & you'll have a 3.9 ratio currently, only two options available

I have seen Quaife diff head fitted : I think i posted it here on the forums somewhere, LSD unit & sexy as a mofo

otherwise no I don't think there are any direct substitutions, or if there is I'm following this thread!

(going to search for Diff's here now & will post any results)

and here for Hilux conversion : http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=799.0

which is what Richard is running in his Lexus Swap Wagon

I raced with a standard wagon 4.11 diff in my old race car for years and it never gave me any problems.

I have a 3.7:1 in my '75 but I'm probably going to swap my old wagon 4.11 head across because it doesn't really pull in 5th gear with the Type 9 gearbox.

And as Joker said, I am running a narrowed Hilux 3.9:1 LSD in my V8 avenger wagon http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=1026.0

Nikolai used also used a Hilux for his SR20 conversion but I think it is a bit of an overkill. With the 4AGE you could probably get away with still running the Avenger diff.

Ford Atlas axle from cortina used by the works Sunbeam teams, has similar pigs head for top mount on saloons. Quaife lsd available on both Avenger and Atlas. 220hp no prob with Quaife and Avenger axle, you will need up graded Atlas for much more.

JoKer

wicked info there! Yep have had the comparison & mention the Avenger Axels are slightly over engineered (larger then Escort from factory)

And welcome to the forums!

I just seen another comment similar to this on FB so came here to write it down (for later reference)
