other than looping the hoses what's the simplest route?

heard of putting in a 'summer' tap' of some sort, still have the stock system including the Z pipe

images / ideas on a simple solution, would like to retain the car as stock as possible

tis a bit warm / noisey in this Kiwi summer heat

Page 235+ in my Haynes manual may have answered my own question's

Will post details &  follow up what I find

valve might be jammed / cable not connected

oldschool

Our Chrysler has the same problem..the cable and tap lever are working fine, so the tap shaft must be stuck open and disconnected from the lever.
I just put a rubber plug (with a small through hole) in the top heater hose connection at the firewall..otherwise unbearable in summer.
