Alternators

Wonder if any one can shed some light on this for me.  The alternator has crapped out om my 79 chrysler avenger. I know there were three different types used but unsure which mine will be lucas, delco or mitsubishi. is there anyway to tell just by looking or were certain types used on certain models. Thanks in advance.

All NZ Avengers were Lucas 16ACR...heaps of ACR's on TradeMe...best to get an 18ACR replacement for more grunt!

I'm also needing a new alternator for my 76 1600 super avenger as the battery on has 12.6v while engine is running. Have a 16ACR in there at the mo. There are only 17ACRs on trademe at the moment, will one of these do?

Mines now dead, happy to try & repair BUt keen to future proof, seen the ones on trademe, but if anyone here has one for a reasonable price I'd be interested in supporting each other
