Hey guys,
im looking for a window seal kit or at least a windscreen seal for my 1976 Hillman Avenger, Any tips on where to buy or where to get one made up would be hugely appreciated!

JoKer

I believe Kiera bought a "Escort " (LOL) kit of www.basisnz.co.nz

will wait for her to confirm

group buy maybe? I'm keen for a set on my '76 as well (save a buck and order two at the same time etc)

javsavenger

Managed to fit the escort kit one in the avenger ok? cool wel wait and hear back. Yeh could definitely be a go, save a dime or two!

I really need a new pair, too. Timing isn't really right for me at the moment though.
Chill Datto, bro!

I would also be keen - would want the soft 'brush' things near the windows too.

I got new rubbers for my Avenger from a local glazier.

I could see if he could do a group deal or something

Yup basis.co.nz. best to email them and they will tell u what is compatible.  I also got the chrome strip. Got mine done at 2 different Smith &smiths who both said they only had minor trouble but worked out in the end.  The main thing is to get someone to do it who knows what they are doing

Speaking if windscreens. I got my Avenger back last weekend and I was running it in out west when this happened.

It happened going around a corner so I had to take the corner blind then drive down a hill and over a bridge before I could pull over. Luckily I had my window open so I could just stick my head out and see where I was going.

I called for a tow truck because I didn't want to kick the glass out and have all little bits of glass all through the car.

I was a bit worried about the window smashing completely on the tow truck ride home and I had a roll of duct tape in the car so this was my solution.

Yeah it was pretty freaky. Just going around a corner then BOOM. Almost gave me a heart attack.

I was lucky that I could get the duct tape on before it caved in so we could take it out in 1 piece when we got it back home.

I can't see any stone impact Richard, maybe caused by body flex?!

kierbear

Kind of can see something that might be stone damage on the far right. Are u joining the $3,000 windscreen club? I could post a pic of the stamp on my windscreen of where it got made as they are one of the few with a template and in hamilton
