Fuel leak

Just filled up my car to the brim, only to find that the tank has devoloped a leak. I've tightened up the fuel line attachment (which was was loose) but I think it is coming out of the bottom of the circular cap which holds the float in. How do I tighten this up? Bash one of the tabs and screw it clockwise, right? Or did that thing fit in differently to that? I can't remember and neither of my manuals are much help.

Bloody painful. I already have enough lawnmower gas to last me quite a while without this kinda bullshit happening.
Chill Datto, bro!

Kyle had something similar and I think he got a new seal NOS style from a general garage to go on the top of the tank between filler and tank or something

oldschool

It uses a locking ring that's turned clockwise to tighten until it hits the stops, so be careful hitting the tabs!
If it's not loose it will need a new rubber seal...Graeme (Avengerparts) might have one...probably the same as a Hunter.
