Not so fast Tonto...is your flatmate covered by your car insurance?
If Yes, you'll lose your no claims bonus and have to pay the first $500.
If No, you'll need to say they 'borrowed' the cars without permission and the insurance company will chase them up for the $$$ repair costs and $500 excess, causing your flatmate to suddenly move out!!
You can do a lot of DIY repairs for $500...getting your flatmate to stump up with some money might be a better option?!

the Wier-house is sold out of Avengers! and the rest of the escorts are going early next week

there is 1 series 7 body left promised to another member (Miles?) so may leave Panel beaters to find a donar /fix my baby

(or I may sneaky a series 7 rear end conversion LOL)

just had ph call : is considering writing it off pending further inspection due to the "prior" condition of the car

Yeah I do still have my caged car.

Not sure if I would sell it or not. I have owned it for like 14 years or so and it was my first car so it has a lot of centimental value to me.

But to be honest I will probably never race it again and it would be good to see it used for what it was intended for.

it still has the trick estate rear suspension, has stock front suspension now but that would probably be better for gravel. It was set up for tarmac before so it would have been too hard for gravel.

Let me know what they say about your car and if it is written off then we can have a chat about my race car.

keeping up to date : just had call from local Car salesman (Ford dealership) had been contacted to "value" ze Avenger : could be interesting

kinda fun "baffling people" showing them the location and the result "how on earth... was he drunk??" etc

they are trying to value it now and say it was ruff pre accident : might have a fight on my hands

You will, as it's worth much less whole than in parts.
Maybe better to ditch the insurance company and repair it yourself/sell the parts or transfer them to another car?
That way you also get to keep the live tags/plates.
If they take ownership, it will be de-registered and sold as a wreck.

agreed $1500-2k for the "shell" alone (inc. cage)

he's trying to figure out why insurance made it sound like they were trying to ignore the cage part IE simple shell = $150 at most

Yeah man. Cages are expensive. I remember when I got mine done like 12 years ago and it cost me close to 2K back then by the time I got it built, installed and homologated.
