Might just be the way the gradiaent makes it look but I think you should mock one up with Panther in a simpler font (different to the Avenger Font). Something square and simple that will stand out against the Avenger. Like the Alpine badges isnt done with the avenger font and is quite affective.

If you remember designing the avenger.co.nz sticker, I had the same thoughts as it alsmot looked tacky trying to match the font (the Panter one is very close but not quite) and I dont think it is as effective as it could be.

jusy my 2cents.

That is just a prototype so I will match the font better by hand before going in to production.

I tried the simple fonts and I couldn't really get them to work. In chrome they just done look like they match. I will photoshop something one with a simple font and post it tonight.

The Avenger logo isn't a font. It is handwritten. The E's are different.

The font I used is the Chrysler script font they used for Valiants and other Chryslers. It looks like the Avenger logo is based off that font but not the same.

I found this out when I started the forum. Way back then I tried to match the font for the forum logo but I found that it wasn't a font because the characters are different (the e's) so I had to take a photo of a badge and photoshop it in to the logo.

I did some more work on the Panther logo in vector graphics using the Chrysler font for the "P th" and using the "a n er" from the Avenger logo.

The top one is using parts of the Avenger

Sweet.

I was hoping you would say that one because I spent all night pissing around with it. On the up side I have found out that I really like working with vector graphics. It is really easy to make logos and change fonts.

I will send them off to the waterjet guy tomorrow and see what he thinks.

Cougar would attract too many older woman from West Auckland :P

That is a really kick ass idea, I could totally imagine the artwork.

I ended up going for the Avenger Panther.

Here are some shots of the finished badges.
