In for a wof, speedo had stopped working, here's the problem, lucky i had kept to original box &  2 seconds to retrieve a matching good one, are these similar on a manual box?

thinking ahead to next time, the colour is important apparently

avenga

The colour determines what ratio diff and gearbox you have in the car.

for example the 3.89:1 manual is white and the 3.89:1 auto is pink. The 4.375:1 manual is light green and the 4.375:1 auto is blue. That is from my 1250/1500 workshop manual, I have some later Haynes manuals if you need the colour for another ratio.

wasnt much of a chore this time!

JoKer

place your bets now! that was a blast, not often you'll see both cars out at the same time

JoKer

So this made a bad noise this week & resulted in a tow-truck ride, pulled diff cover off & it looks like this

with a wee bit of damage on the drive wheels, does anyone have any thoughts on the damage?, simpler to replace whole Diff & axels etc? Plan A was to just replace the diff itself

Bit the bullet & whipped the rear end out of the Brown Chrysler in the back yard, kept brakes intact & swapped over the axels too, recently had new bearings on one side

back on the road now

Stardate : 93880 kms on the clock (if it were 6 digits pretty sure its 193880

JoKer

Just a little bit :) You will be beating Kiera for biggest rolled guards on an Avenger.

JoKer

got a tire for the other rim so may throw together a madmax Venger out of one of the spares :D

avenga

A madmax Avenger would be awesome.

There were quite a few Valiant Chargers in the Mad Max films.

This was from Mad Max 2

And this was from the new Mad Max film

And the mayor of bullet town was driving a tracked Valiant Charger

1000 miles (1654 Kilometers) and 13 days I am home after a "wee" road trip that went Dannevirke > Palmy > Turangi > Pokeno (icecream) > Auckland (Muesem & Airport)> Pukekohe > Hahei > Whitianga a couple of times > Taupo > Napier back to Norsewood & Dannevirke Home

Car never missed a beat & used no oil nor water that I can tell

great to put a few more internet names to faces & Volunteering  at Leadfoot was pretty cool

Highlight had to be BBQ & Beer up at Rod's "Mine-shaft" his private wine cellar & new House site

Last day on the Ranch looked like this after all the people had gone & all the chairs Umbrella's and banners had been picked up
