Alpine VS GT Cluster and my new dashboard

Hi guys.

As part of my restoration of my '75 I am converting my dashboard over to the Alpine dash and cluster.

I spent mega bucks restoring my Alpine cluster but it has some of the edges so I brought the Avenger GT dash that was for sale on trade me, thinking the gauges would be the same and I could just swap the facia over and keep my rebuilt gauges.

I didn't know how different the UK clusters are. My new cluster is a Smiths and the diffences are quite noticeable. The font is heaps sharper on the UK one, The NZ one looks like a cheap knock off compared, or like I am not wearing my glasses. The speedo is quite different with the UK being in 10MPH increments and the NZ being in 15MPH, also the trip and odo are around the other way and the stamping is better.

wow great job on the dash was it expensive? it looks very smart though must say.were did you get that done richard? should look well all put together and in its proper place

Thanks. Yeah I am pretty impressed with the dashboard. It looks really good, can't wait to see it in the car with the new cluster.

I am getting a full respray of my Avenger so it should look pretty awesome when it is done.

Got it done my a local guy, Grant's Auto Upholstery (same guy who did my seats)

Can't remember exactly how much it cost but I think it was around $500. About half the price of getting it done through dashboard restorations and I think it looks better, love the stitching.

Soo Cool!!, I was loving your Avenger just as she was, as well as flying by the seat of my pants when we went out on the Avenger cruise, SO Sick! hahahaha
