I've been looking around and I've seen many avengers with nice restored or new windscreen rubbers. I've looked everywhere and can't find a source. Could someone point me in the right direction :)

First I would wait to see if "avengerparts" has any. I know he stocks heaps of Rootes group parts so he may have some.

If not I would give Basis a try. They specialise in rubbers for old cars. Some of my mates have got Valiant rubbers off them. You may need to ring them because they don't list Avengers on their site but I know they sell heaps more than what is on their site.

their website is http://www.basisnz.co.nz/

Let me know how you get on because the ones on my 1975 Hillman Avenger are terrible, they are all cracked and leaky. I have coated them with copious amounts of selleys all clear to get it to stop leaking.

Yeah i checked out Basis earlier this morning and gave them a ring and they gave me a product number 218.076 and also filler strip (217.005)

It isn't made for an Avenger but it's they closet they have to it. The lady told me there had been success with fitting them but also failure so i'm not too sure whether I'll risk it at $28 a metre.

She said i may like to go ask a window glazer before hand to see if they are prepared for the job as it would take a pro to do it properly

Any thoughts?

Yeah I have heard the same sort of stories from my mates with Valiants.

Make sure the window glazer you use is experienced with doing old cars and is willing to stick with the job if it gets difficult. One of my mates had a window glazer just give up and leave it half done.

I would do some ringing around your local area and see which glazer sounds most keen to do the job. You can usually tell that most of them really don't want to piss around with an old car, They just want a quick easy job.

Hillman kid

wow brand new? have a good look for me :) haha. Na i haven't tried that do you think i should? I never really use the wanted section.
My dads the same. I have a barn full of parts you'd think no one would ever need

avenga

I used the wanted section on Trademe to find my 1500 Alpine engine for my '75. I got really good replies. I was really surprised, I got 4 replies and picked the best engine out of the lot.

oldschool

Speedy Spares in the UK have front ones for 23 pounds ($47) plus post and VAT maybe?
I need one and if other want members want them too, we could order 5 or 6 and split the cost?
