JoKer

alright anyone care to start a thread with images of each "series"?

there a apparently 7 series of Avenger and I thought the big squares were later on ie '76 +

obviously not?

I only say this as the dash looks like my '78

but engine bay does look early with remote Brake booster etc? weird

avengertiger

there are 2 marks of tiger within the series 1 range 1 + 2 the one listed is a 1 like mine although it is missing some parts like the 2 up 2 down spotlights and bullet mirrors and the original magnesium minilites its also missing the original airfilter arrangement for twin 40s.
the dash is per mk1 tiger with oil pressure, water temp, amp gauge and fuel gauge revcounter is dash mounted pod gauge.
the remote booster is standard on all tigers and wasnt available in the uk on lower models its actually a hunter unit mounted on the passenger side as standard.
it looks like nz avengers may have been completly different spec wise from uk models as nztiger said all nz avengers had alternators were early avengers in uk had dynamo.
i aint sure on all the seperate series but do know that the later talbot or chrysler avenger was classed as a series 7 in the uk.

NZTiger

There were in fact 10 or 11 Series, 1 for each year. Major change was 7 Series with big headlights etc then 8 Series added the electronic ignition, and revised frt suspension with longer tca's, this corresponded to the intro of the Sunbeam that shared all mechanicals. I think the springs were also softer at this time?
