For Sale + Coming Up Soon for Sale

Well, I'm going to be heading in a different direction with my Avenger come January, so I'm starting to sell off the bits I don't need/won't be needing.

Basically, the whole 1500 engine, as well as radiator, 4sp gearbox, extractors, single stromberg carb (+manifold), twin stromberg carb (+ manifold), carb kits, and these wheels below as well.

Basically just give me an offer for all parts. Would prefer someone buys the whole engine!

Engine, gearbox, everything is all working 100%. Only problem would be that it needs a new thermostat as this one is a little slow to start reading temp.

For sale right now is the twin carb with manifold and carb kits for each carb and the wheels.

Early Jan for sale will be the whole engine with extractors (not selling exhaust at this stage).

Wheels ($250)

These are actually 13" Rims not 14" rims and the stud pattern is 4x108 not 4x110.

Two tyres will not pass warrant, due to sidewall damage (was rubbing on the guards).

The other two tyres will pass many WOF's.

One center cap missing (can buy on Trade Me for $5)

what you transplanting in? blasphemously i think a 2 litre ford motor would be so stupidly simple to install... or a 2.3 turbo even [do it]. best of both worlds - crossflow motor, good box, better suspension and handleing. go show those escort dicks who is boss.

could be keen. motor is a proper tc one with better chain and head? rich - you've seen it, right? i would like to start working a motor but don't want to stuff around and sacrifice my road legal daily until i have to. you guys - what's a fair price? and what time frame you looking at nikolai? i've got tons of work up to christmas and should be able to come up with funds easy, but would be relying on getting my panelvan back on the road for collection. [rebuilding the head as we speak - then it's replacing the passenger floor pan and most the metal around the screen]

edit - for clarification just the motor is cool. box maybe, but i would rather just go straight for a 5 speed. i've already got a custom radiator, extractors and the like. carbs i dunno... is it worth trading up for a short while or just stick with the 45? [i am trying to find out what happened to my old delortos. those were sexy carbs]

edit edit - late jan is good. can i count on some of you akers to help a brother out? ;)

It looks like I'll be transplanting either a CA18DE (140ish hp) or a SR20DE (160ish hp). Also will be a huge brake and suspension upgrade, and I'll keep the new exhaust I installed earlier.

I'll also be getting at least a 5spd, and might even try for a 6sp gearbox.

Regarding the condition, I'm happy to have whoever to come and check it out and post up photos etc of all the required bits and pieces.

Ideally I'd be selling it at the end of Jan. It'll probably be taken out around 2nd/3rd week of Jan, and I do have some limited storage so no huge rush. Just the motor isn't a problem to me. The box is in REALLY good condition, the previous owner had it restored/cleaned etc when he put a replacement (semi-used) clutch in.

I'd be able to help out with delivery in Auckland, and might be able to help get it down to Hamilton (or maybe meet you halfway?). Anyway, that's minor stuff to be arranged!

I'm happy to have Ross/Richard etc check out the engine and let you know the exact condition as they do know better than I, and you're also welcome to check it out at any time.

I'm sure other people will be interested in extractors etc if they're currently lacking in that area!

yeah if one of the experts was able to give me an opinion that would be cool. the main thing is making sure it is the high spec unit. my current motor is anyway if it came down to it but the less stuffing around the better. [plus it is getting pretty tired - will be great for back up/spares though]

that and working out a fair price, and all.

suppose if you are willing to strip it down i could even just chuck everything in my boot.

BTW if you miss out on this motor then I have a spare 1500 plus gearbox and everything sitting in my garage. It is minus the clutch because I gave it to the previous owner of Nikolai's car.

From memory Nikolai's is the same as my old 1500 I have spare, just a standard 1500. Nikolai pop over one night and I will have a look at your engine and see if it has the dual timing chain and double valve springs.
