Did anyone see that Avenger at pickapart in mangere? Its mustard yellow, 1975 at a guess.

It was still there as of yesterday, full of rust and devoid of parts. Motor is still in there though, don't know what its missing.

I think its going to be crushed pretty soon, so I took off the lights and a few other random bits and stashed them in the bushes at the edge of the yard so they didn't get crushed and wasted  :P

Oh and I brought the taillights and some lovely chrome windscreen wipers off it  :)

I went out to Pick a Part Mangere today. There's a mustard 1600cc NZ Avenger (same colour as Logan's) and a blue 1500cc UK one there, both manual gearboxes and both motors are seized. The UK one is interesting, has disc brakes (confirming it's a 1500, not a 1250) but is fitted with a generator, not an alternator, so must be a really early private import, 1970 maybe!!
It still has the large UK chassis plate on it, so it could be deciphered to get its exact age and other specs.
Most of the good parts have gone, was hoping to get a headlight switch, but only wiper ones there...lol
Good if you need steering or brake parts...the NZ one still has a functioning brake system!!
I got 4 wheel nuts for my Alpine spare wheel, as it's a standard rim, not a mag.
I thought UK Avengers used 7/16" and NZ ones used 12mm x 1.25 wheel nuts, but the wheel nuts from the UK Avenger fitted the NZ one too, so are they all 7/16 or 12mm, anyone know for sure??

I have a spare headlight switch, will have to find it tomorrow to confirm but 99% sure I have it.
