Hi guys.

With my big flares I am looking at getting some bigger rubber and wheels.

I am looking for around 15x7 or 15x8 wheels.

I am also looking for some ideas in what is out there.

In terms of retro wheels this is what I have found. I haven't found anything that grabs me yet so I am looking for ideas.

Superlite - don't really like the look. I think they are too common and remind me of minis for some reason

Challenger - Again pretty common, makes me think of a torana. Maybe I could not paint them black, how would body colour look? probably silly.

Or I could go something modern. I usually don't like modern wheels on old cars but here are some that I think may work.

KOYA AE TEK2 - I like the dish and they aren't all chromed like most new mags.

Or some type of cop rim/stock car rim. I haven't found one that fits but for example.

if you got near on 4k to spare (trademe)

@ 600 aint bad

the pug 406 rims aint bad - almost porche like!

I saw those first ones and I really like them but I ain't dropping $3,800 on a set of mags. About $1500 would be my upper limit I would want to spend.

Got a link to the 2nd ones? do they come in 4x108 with a low offset?

I will look up the pug 406 rims.

Thanks for the ideas.

Yeah I was about to say. Dish is a must.

I do really like those one but I just can't spend that much on rims, $3800 is just too much. If I could find some of those cheaper, thats the sort of look I am going for.

The Black Rock looks great.

Weren't you upgrading your brakes? I've heard RX7 suspension/discs are great for the front and the Mazda stud would then give you a lot bigger range to choose from when selecting wheels. (Obv this means modding the rear too - but it could be a good op to convert to 4 wheel discs)

if you want steels, these guys are pretty sweet http://www.diamondracingwheels.com

int he USA  so would need to get shipped over but they are pretty cheap and basically can make anything you want in any size with any offset

A dude on school got some and I think he said it was about $300 for shipping and customs etc. plus 350 odd for the actual wheels.

DONT get Peugeot rims, they wont have anything in RWD offset and will look stupid. you will have to get something with decent dish. only thing Peugeot wheels are good for are for getting a cheap set of steels and widening them

avenga

Yes I will be upgrading the brakes and I have talked about 4 wheel disc so that could be an option.

What PCD is an RX7? so I can look at what mags I can get.

I do really like the black rocks. Big aggressive rims like that look great, I don't know if the Avenger is a tough enough car to pull it off. One of my mates runs rims like that on his 440ci Dodge coronet. Looks soo bad ass.

Thanks Hunted, I will look in to the diamond racing wheels. I already looked for Peugeot rims after Jared mentioned them and your are right, I couldn't find anything in RWD offset so I had already given up on them. I need dish!!!

Hey Andrew. I am totally digging those Diamond wheels, love the stock car look. They look so bad ass.

I think the Challenger series looks pretty cool in black.

Is 4x4"1/2 the same as 4x108?

no you will want 4x4 1/4" (4.25 inch PCD = 108mm PCD)

I agree that they look badass. its sweet how you can pick any offset you want as well, so you can fill the guards/flares right out.

Re: elite, they most liekly can, but they will be super expensive I bet, will be worth giving them a call though.

I used Elite to widen some steels for my chevette. that alone cost $400 so Id hate to think what a custom steel rim would cost from them...

would be interested to know though, just out of curiosity.
