Has anyone else had water get into their boot because the seal around the boot does not meet the boot lid? like a build up of water then overflowing into the boot

avenga

Yes, I have the same problem.

yeah i do coz the bits where the rubbers are cut to fit around where the boot closes are loose, jammed them back into place and havnt had a problem since. also, my rear windscreen rubbers were leaking and water was getting thru my parcel tray and leaking the boot. just take the bung out? maybe?

Yes I think it's a fault in the fastback boot design and they can leak around the light clusters too.
The spare wheel in my orange Avenger was absolutely knackered with rust - had to replace it.
I drilled a 10mm hole at the bottom of each rear guard where it meets the wheel arch to let out water trapped there, otherwise the guards rust out. Yes take out the rubber bung and also drill an 8mm hole in each of the 4 channels in the wheel well, as water sitting in the channels can't get to the bung hole!

My front windscreen leaks but, I like to think "if a British car doesnt leak theres something wrong with it"  ;D
