I'm shocked a Paykan (Hunter) motor was fitted into the Avenger in Iran...it was the other way around according to this article...even RWD Peugeots were fitted with Avenger motors!!

Yeah, that is typical Wikipedia accuracy for you!!!

Both had the Avenger engine in them. The Paykan was definitely the Avenger engine because we found that photo of all the new Avenger engines in the Iran factory, so whoever wrote that Wikipedia article got the engine in the Paykan wrong, he did get the fact that they both use the same engine but it is the Avenger engine they share, not the hunter engine.

That's how I drive to work, best way to beat the Auckland traffic, just squeeze in between the lanes :) :) :)

Also why the Alpine had a vinyl roof, nice nonslip surface so your feet didn't slip :)

Gary Bridger to NZ car related street scenes 1950s-1980s
3 hrs ?

If you are wondering why there are so many Chrysler Valiants appearing in NZ street scenes, it's because of the huge number that were both assembled and imported into NZ by Todd Motors. According to Mitsubishi NZ records, a total of 44,760 Chrysler Valiants including 2208 Chargers were assembled in NZ. Todd Motors also imported 5151 AP5 - VH Valiants with an unknown number of VJ - CL models imported. In addition to that, many Valiants and particularly Chargers were imported privately into NZ. Of the 100 known remaining Charger E49s, 25 are in NZ. The Chrysler Valiant actually outsold the Ford Falcon in NZ up until the early 1970s. Photos from Todd archives of VH Valiants on the NZ assembly line, prior to release in 1971.
