Hey guys,

I am thinking about selling my Avenger to buy something more reliable until I have enough time/money for a project car.

Haven't fully made my mind up, but thought you guys might have an idea about what it is worth, I got it off a family friend for mates rates.

Anyway, it is a 1974 Hillman Avenger Super 1500. Same colour as the one at the top of the page.
Has a few spots of surface rust that need attention, I have had similar patches repaired ~500.
Has Free-flow Kobi Extractors attached, original exhaust I believe, could do with replacing now that extractors are attached.
Clutch is starting to slip slightly in high gear going up hill.
Interior is average, back seat has big rip at the top, carpet is pretty ratty and has been cut out of drivers floor. Everything else is relatively good.
Has Galaxy mags, big rubbers and a dixie horn.
New Reg (12 months) and wof till oct.

Anyone have an idea what it would be worth?
Is anyone interested in it?

Cheers,
Axl

Both. 12 months of reg, wof runs out in october.

I also have a bunch of parts including twin-carbs I was planning on installing.

realist : start bidding $500?

I do love em but dont hold them in High regard on the road...

others will differ :P

This similar 1973 1500 recently sold on TradeMe for $865

But no WOF or mags on that one and we didn't get to see how it looked inside.
Any car with a WOF is worth at least $500 and your one may go for $1000 or more, depending on how it looks, what extras come with it and what needs fixing.
Little mechanical jobs like needing a clutch won't matter to most DIY buyers, but rust, dents, bad paint, upholstery, dashboard and carpets will reduce its value, as they're specialist jobs to fix.
A start price of $500 with a reserve of $1000 might work, you can always reduce the reserve later if it doesn't sell?

It is really hard to say what it is worth since we haven't seen any pictures of it.

I saw you driving past once and the Avenger looked pretty good. Give me a yell some time and I will come over and have a look at the Avenger, let you know what I think it is worth.

This is now for sale. The clutch is fully buggered now so will need to be towed.

If anyone is interested in looking at it they can hit me up in here. If it goes on Trademe I will post a link.

I have a spare clutch etc if you want to chuck that in to make it easier to sell.

That could be a plan. How much would you want for it?
How much do you think it would cost to get installed? Or should I just have it with the car to sell it easier?

avenga

Free to a good home.

Not sure how much it would cost to get replaced. Get some quotes to get it done. Ring Mal at Bygone Autos down in Beach haven. He does all the work in my Avenger so he knows them well.

Sweet, that would be awesome. I am hoping it will go to a collector and be done up but you cant really control these things.

I will die a little inside if someone puts a rotory in it.

avenga

Yes, I think that is a sentiment held by all of us.

Give me a PM about the clutch etc.
