Hi I brought this Avenger a few months ago from Napier just wondering if it was TC cause it has some TC features & some missing TC parts. It was originally blue. It was painted black with red pin stripes. I think the plates & tags are for another model Avenger but it's all deregistered. Just got it cause seemed different to other ones. It missing TC badges & hubcaps.

Info I found online about TC avengers
To boost appeal, a locally-developed sporting Avenger was launched in 1971, complementing the ?Super? model. Known as the Avenger ?TC?, this four door variant had black side stripes, sports hubcaps, locally-made sports seats, full black vinyl interior trim, bright colours and (giving it the TC name) twin carburetors.

Trying work out if it's a 1500 from the numbers I found on engine. Trying to see if has any other numbers on body or engine

The TC was a special edition that they only did in NZ. The TC was only sold in 71 and 72 before it was replaced by the Avenger Alpine.

It has the TC high back seats, dash mounted tacho and black interior, so they all match a TC. Have a look at the head, just by the radiator hose up the top. Does it have a little S in the casting.

It is looking very much like it is an original TC. Can you take a photo of the seats without the covers on? Because then I can 100% ID them as TC seats.

Can you let me know what the chassis number is? Do you know what year it is? I can tell from the chassis number.

Originally they all had a stripe on them. I have some old sales brochures for the TC at home. I'll take some photos over the weekend.

If it is an original TC then they are super rare. I have only ever seen a couple of them, and I don't know if any of them are still on the road

"High-backs" or Tombstones are 'rare'

Richard made his for the 1500 by welding on extra Loop (pretty much what they did OEM)

I think my highbacks were factory new, they have the right vinyl coverings, but they are very different to Henry's ones.

Henry's ones are the original TC highbacks. You can tell by the curved headrest.

Here are my highbacks. See how rounded the top is also

I have a feeling mine might have somehow came out of a Plymouth Cricket, because that is the Plymouth logo on them.
