Did they sell the Avenger in Sri Lanka? or was it privately imported at some stage?

Yes you?re correct. It was privately imported after used in UK. My one is YOM 1971 & brought down to SL in 1979. 10-15 nos cars running  in Sri Lanka. But this is the only one car with this variatant.
