Toyota 2tgeu head

Hi Everyone,

A while back a read somewhere that a Toyota 2tg cylinder head more or less will bolt straight on to an avenger block.
Out of my own curiosity ive been looking for a head since and finally found a complete head yesterday for $50 so i grabbed it.

Got home from work tonight and keen to see how it sized up i dropped an avenger head gasket on it. Looks pretty good from what i can see, only need to do minor enlargement of the head bolt holes and figure where the oil and water ports are.

Hopefully when i finish my current rebuild ill be starting on this build and wanting to do a turbo setup on this head with an avenger bottom end and see what Frankenstein creation of an engine i can come up with. 😁😁😁

Hi guys, im doing this mod to in the UK.

The only issue we anticipate now is the front cover but im hoping to pick up a Toy one once Lock Down is lifted and make a Hybrid.

Awesome Nev, would be keen to see how youve gone about yours. For mine I'm planning on running am external oil feed from the block to the head to keep things simple , along with an electric water pump and then fabricate a new timing cover to suit. Has there been any issues you've run into?

My biggest problem is finding a head during this Lock Down.

I have done some work with the pushrod head and worked out all the issues - theoretically - other then the front cover.  I have one and a head but they are 350 miles away!!!

But as soon as Lock Down is finished i shall crack on.

I am planning significant changes to the bottom end as well to increase the capacity.
