that's the main issue & all the doors I have all have issues of their own


anyone in NZ have a viable solution? I did suggest cutting a bit our of one of mine but when I saw the location that did'nt seem like a simple cut & shut

Mines done exactly the same, think its caused by shutting the door by pushing on the window frame. My window seal tracks have also completely rusted out due to the panel beater not sealing them. Looking at that photo its been patched before, best bet is to cut it out completely and cut a patch to suit, gently panel beat the patch into the correct contours as its welded.

Is this a reasonably common place for rust? Haven?t been on the forum for a while. At the moment the car is in the shed getting some work so that it can look nicer. Still runs mint

I have heard that is common for the early Avengers because Todd Motors only had a half immersion bath in their first factory, which only rust protected the lower half, but then in their second factory they had a full immersion bath which let them rest protect the whole car. They moved from Petone to Porirua in 1974.

Not sure if that is true or not but I have heard it a few times and early valiants rusted out in the same place.

It?s an interesting theory at the very least . Will go shopping at jokers this weekend for a door and might keep the build thread updated
