Anybody using their Avenger as a sole daily: I salute you. I know most people with have a boring, reliable, japper or something as well, though. So out with it.
I will kick things off by embarrassing myself royally and so making everybody else feel better about themselves.

Blekkja,
I was once a misguided fool like you!!!!!
I am SOOOO pleased that I have matured with the passing of time.
Bu, if you want another Marina, there is a 1750 TC stting at the secondand dealer at Hunterville. The Ozzie ones use Ford/Avenger stud pattern wheels too, so you can save on wheels.
Oh yeah, refer to my recent post in the funnies string as well......
That guy normally wants decent money for his cars, though. I was really tempted to pick up an A40 Van from him a few years back, but couldn't find the coin. I will take another Aussie Spec car if it doesn't cost me more than a couple hundred (or ideally a box of beer like the Estate) - I do need a manual box for the O series, and another set of discs so we can install the 1300 in my old man's Morrie Thou. The interior and opening quarterlights are nice too!
Don't you be dissing on my commercials though: If I could find a decent Datsun for a decent price I would take that over the Ute, but the only other vehicle in the Van's class is an Escort and I'm not having one of those.
Try and tell me this isn't actually pretty cool, why don't you? :P

You're taking a risk parking it by that No Dumping Of Rubbish sign....haha
Nah: I parked it a little bit back just in case somebody showed up with an Escort.
I wish I could say I dont have a back up car because the Avenger is so reliable but thats not true. Ive found myself standing on the side of the road with the bonnet up on more than 1 occasion. So Here's the back up cars.
1st up is the somewhat rare 1983 Toyota Celica XX, Its the GT Twincam model. 5M-GE, 5 speed manual.

2nd is this HORRIBLE 94 VR Commodore. Its Also 5 speed manual. 3.8 V6. Its for sale. Why these are popular is beyond me? Its heavy, cumbersome, It handles terribly, It just feels like a whale on the road.

Here's my backup car, an Electric Fiat 126 I made 20 years ago...lol
i can barely afford to keep my avenger let alone another car, which is why i had a hard time with insurance so its not allowed to fail me, i will not allow it
How about taking up modeling to raise some extra money Kiera - something in leopard skin?!
ha ha ha ha. im studying full time, remember? not that nursing will get me enough money to run more than one car.
I do appreciate that Fiat. How efficient is it? Must be fairly dinosaurish compared with the fancy batteries you can get these days. There's a website where some bloke in Taranaki has documented converting a RWD Sigma. So inspirational. Def on my one day list.
It's 110% efficient coz I charge it at my mates place...haha
Seriously...it is outdated with lead acid batteries and a DC motor...Lithium and AC one day??$$
I was stoked the other day...drove just about 50km on a single charge...there's life left in the old girl yet!!
Yep a few people making EV's...check out evbuilders.com
